At Breakout Liverpool you have 60 minutes to escape from a locked room by working as a team, finding the hidden clues and solving some fiendish puzzles.

With no less than 12 different rooms to choose from, each with its own unique and exciting scenario, and varying levels of difficulty, you'll want to go back again and again.  Here are just a few of the options available:

Sabotage:  Go behind enemy lines to sabotage a missile strike that threatens the whole world.

The Detective Office:  A young detective has been murdered, and you're in the frame.  Can you find out who killed him and why?  (There are two copies of this room - larger groups can book both rooms, split into two teams and race to escape).

Vacancy:  You book into your hotel at the end of a long journey, but when you put your bag on the bed, a 60-minute countdown begins.  You try the door but it's locked!  You've checked in, but will you ever check out?

Ride around Liverpool in a replica of John Lennon's outrageously ornate Rolls Royce Phantom.

You'll see all the famous Beatles locations including Penny Lane, the grave of Eleanor Rigby, Strawberry Field, The Cavern Club and of course the childhood homes of George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Richard Starkey Jr (Ringo Starr).

You'll see the Georgian Quarter, the Three Graces, Albert Dock and more.  Spot things that other people usually miss like the Tracy Emin sculpture, and you'll hear fascinating stories from Liverpool's past.

6. Climb at Awesome Walls Liverpool

Awesome Walls offers a variety of climbing challenges including everything from learning walls for beginners to a 12-metre lead wall and tricky bouldering problems that will challenge even the most experienced climber.

If you're new to climbing, groups of 2 or more can book a Climbing Taster session with an instructor who will show you how everything works and just how much fun climbing can be.

Or book a half-hour Boulder and Auto-Belay Induction which will allow you to continue bouldering and using the auto-belays for the rest of the day.

If you're really keen, a Full Centre induction lasts 90 minutes and will cover everything you need to climb or boulder safely and includes climbing for the rest of the day.

Hire of harnesses and shoes is included in all the induction courses.

7. Enjoy A Coverstar Recording Experience

Where better to enjoy a recording studio experience than the Beatles' home city of Liverpool?

See Liverpool from a different perspective!  Hop on board the world-famous Mersey Ferry for a 50-minute cruise with a recorded commentary.  Enjoy the views of the waterfront as you take in the fascinating history of the city.

Between April and October, you could enjoy an evening cruise on the River Mersey, and enjoy the sunset and nighttime views of Liverpool.  With DJs and live music from tribute bands, you can dance the night away in style.

10. Try Axe Throwing with Timberjacks

Try your hand at one of the earliest lumberjack sports - axe throwing!

An unusual and fun activity - and an exciting challenge.  You'll get a full briefing from Timberjacks' friendly staff before each game, and it's great fun improving your technique in search of that elusive bullseye.

There's confectionary, snacks and hot and cold drinks available to buy, but for obvious reasons, alcohol is not allowed on the premises.

Sessions are 45, 60 or 75 minutes long.  Why not give it a try?

11. Go Golf Crazy with Junkyard Golf

With loud music, flashing lights and lots of UV - this isn't like your grandpa's golf.

There are three crazy golf courses to choose from:

Gary - Visit Gary's scrap metal, putt through the UV disco room under the glitterballs and try for a hole-in-one under the lights.

Pablo - Golf in the jungle littered with the skulls of those who played before you.  Avoid the pirate boats and UFC bears or you might share their fate.

Bozo - This might be the scariest golf course around - a fairground nightmare with a hall of mirrors, a Ferris wheel and the scariest clown you'll ever meet on a golf course.

Junkyard Golf also has bars serving beer, spirits and a great range of cocktails and soft drinks.

I hope you've enjoyed this roundup of fun things to do in Liverpool for adults, and whichever one you choose I hope you have a fantastic time!
