The New Pallant House Gallery opens 1 July 2006.
A contemporary wing adjoining a Queen Anne townhouse holding one of the best collections of Modern British art in the country. The new building contains nine new gallery spaces to accompany the ten gallery spaces in the existing house, a prints and drawings rooom, an art reference library, a shop, a cafe and a courtyard garden.
There are works in the collection by, amongst others: Frank Auerbach, Peter Blake, David Bomberg, Patrick Caulfield, Lucian Freud, Richard Hamilton, Barbara Hepworth, Ivon Hitchens, Fernand Leger, Henry Moore, Paul Nash, Ben Nicholson, Pablo Picasso, John Piper, Ceri Richards, Bridget Riley, Gino Severini, Walter Sickert and Graham Sutherland.
