King Harold sailed from Bosham to visit Duke William, before the Norman invasion of 1066. A picturesque village, it features Holy Trinity church, which is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry and has one of the UK's finest Saxon chancel arches. Bosham is reputed to be the place that King Canute was supposed to have commanded the tide to roll back.
