Things to do in Carlton Colville, Suffolk
Carlton Colville is a village situated three and a half miles S.W. of Lowestoft on the south side of the River Waveney.
The village has grown extensively during recent years with many new properties being built.
It has a variety of business outlets to cater to the growing population.
Carlton Colville is proud to have East Anglia's Premier Working Transport Museum in the village, which has one of the widest ranges of preserved vehicles of any museum and where special events are held.
Nearby is the Carlton Manor Hotel, which sits back off the road and therefore can offer peace and tranquility.
St. Peter's Church is situated on the corner of a small country road junction and is well worth a visit, there is also a Methodist Church in the village.
Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve is in 'Burnt Lane' and has a very informative visitor centre at the entrance from where there are interesting walks, one of which leads to Oulton Broad passing the 'Ivy House Hotel' with its Thatched Barn restaurant set in beautiful grounds.
Nearby attractions are Oulton Broad with Nicholas Everitt Park, Lowestoft, with its historic high street and sandy beach, also Kessingland Wildlife Park, to name just a few.
Visitors will never be at a loss for something to do and somewhere to visit.
