Things to do in Billinghay, Lincolnshire
Billinghay is a Lincolnshire village approximately four miles from Tattershall Castle.
It lies along the Billinghay Skirth (Drain). The Parish Council Office is a fine thatched cottage beside a working ironmonger's.
Recent works of community art include a wonderful mosaic project in a central location on the High Street/Fitzwilliam Place corner depicting the history of the village.
There are several zoetropes placed around the village depicting humourous historical characters.
Billinghay has three active churches, including St Michael and All Angels (C of E), Bethel Chapel (Baptist), a Methodist Church, plus a marketplace and war memorial.
A new play area beside the village hall includes a skate park and zip wire. An enclosed play area for younger children is also nearby.
There are several Public Footpaths around the village.
During the summer the open-air Billinghay Swimming Pool is widely used.
There are tennis courts on Walcott Road. Billinghay has several special interest groups that meet regularly (History, Cycling, Walking, Keep Fit).
We have our own Medical Practice with Pharmacy.
There are shops, hairdressers, a public house and other businesses - all helping Billinghay to remain an active, community-spirited, central location to live in.
