East Yorkshire

Everingham is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is situated 5 miles west of Market Weighton town centre and 4 miles south of Pocklington town centre.

It forms part of the civil parish of Everingham and Harswell.

It has two churches, both dedicated to St. Everilda, a 7th century saint who founded a convent here: St. Everilda's (Church of England) and St. Mary & Everilda, Everingham, (Roman Catholic). There is only one other church in Britain dedicated to this saint, at Nether Poppleton, City of York.
