Norton juxta Twycross today is a quiet and peaceful little village in Leicestershire, close to the Warwickshire border and is bounded on the east side by the Ashby Canal. It consists of about 60 houses. The village is situated 12 miles from Hinckley, 7 miles from Market Bosworth, 7 miles from Atherstone and 20 miles from Leicester.
Norton was probably created by Anglo-Saxons in the 6th -7th C. Norton is believed to be derived from North Tun, Tun being Anglo-Saxon for settlement.
