Fishburn is a quiet and pleasant small village, situated between Sedgefield and Trimdon Village. It was once a pit village and is a very close-knit community. The local coke ovens provided jobs for many of the local residents. The coke ovens were demolished many years later.
Fishburn has a various shops and services including a garage, school, several takeaway establishments, a doctors surgery and a Youth & Community Centre that has several courses running.
It also has 2 drinking establishments - a working men's club and a public house.
The main buses that pass through the Village go to Stockton and Hartlepool.
