The Cottages:
20 Swlf Catering Cottages and Appartments
Traditional stone and brick farm buildings and granary, creating an original farm court layout comprising a mixture of one and two bedroomed apartments and three bedroomed cottages. Lawned courtyard with additional landscaped recreational area to the rear. Ample on site parking is provided.
All 20 properties have the benefit of gas fired central heating, fitted carpets, colour T.V. and telephone. The fully fitted kitchen with electric oven and gas hob includes fridge, microwave, iron and toaster etc., together with a wide range of cooking utensils and crockery.
All bed linen is provided, but we do ask that guests bring their own towels. A weekly cleaning and bed changing service is included for longer term guests. Cots are available on request at no extra charge.
Plawsworth is a quiet award winning village of approximately 40 houses and one working farm. During the months of July and August, Plawsworth Hall Farm is open to the public for soft fruit picking.
Lying midway between historic Durham City (3 miles) and the market town of Chester-le-Street (2 miles), it is ideally placed for commuting to the major commercial centres of the North East. Plawsworth is an ideal base for touring the Dales, Northumberland, the Borders and North Yorkshire.
THE LOCAL AREA
A busy pub and restaurant serving breakfast is 300 yards away. A Post Office, paper shop and foodstore are within walking distance (500 yards). The Arnison Centre retail park with a large Sainsburys hypermarket is just over a mile away.
Several excellent take-away food outlets are available in Framwellgate Moor (2 miles). For children, two family pubs with supervised play areas and children's menus are within a mile. Several top class retaurants are situated locally for a special evening out.
