Neath Museum will Close for Refurbishment on 30th September 2006.
Situated in the heart of the town, Neath Museum and Art Gallery traces the history of the area from Prehistoric times. On the upper floor, there are temporary displays of art and photographic exhibitions which change every 6-8 weeks. Come and meet Sebastian, our talking Roman soldier who will tell you about his life in Nidum - the Roman fort just outside the town. Life in Neath during Medieval times is shown using replicas and artefacts. Recent excavations have uncovered a Dark Age royal castle in the area and the finds are on display.
