Discover for yourself the tranquil workplace of a 19th century miller. A mill has stood on the site since the 13th century, providing flour for the local villages and later for the Hardwick estate until 1952.
Following restoration work, you can see it in working order today. Why not - see the massive 17 foot enclosed waterwheel, find out how flour was milled, see the kiln, drying floor and millstones, relax by the Mill stream and meet our friendly staff and volunteers.
Groups and education parties are welcome at Stainsby Mill, but advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
Buy freshly milled flour to make your bread (limited stock).
