Attingham Park
Explore the changing fortunes, revival and re-discovery of this Shropshire Estate.
Built 1782-5 Attingham was home to the Berwick family for 5 generations. Their life stories are told through the contents and history of the house and estate. They are brought vividly to life by our guides, tours, events and family activities.
Attingham is also embarking on an ambitious restoration programme - the Attingham Re-discovered project. The project aims to return the interiors to their Regency splendour.
The picturesque landscapes were created by Thomas Leggett and Humphry Repton. You can enjoy a number of woodland walks along the River Tern and through the Deer Park, taking in stunning views of the Wrekin and Shropshire Hills. Or you can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the park.
Walks range from one to three miles. The park is of particular importance being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is nationally recognised for its collection of veteran trees, with some oak trees dating back to the reign of Henry VIII.
