By Car: Blackpool's Central Promenade opposite Blackpool Tower is currently undergoing major improvement works and is closed to traffic until June 2011. As such, if you are unfamiliar with driving around the town we recommend that you park in Blackpool's Central car park and continue your journey on foot, approximately 10 minutes walk. Directions from the M55 to Central car park: At the end of the M55 keep in the outside lane and take the second exit at the roundabout onto Yeadon Way. Continue straight ahead onto Seasiders Way. Continue straight ahead onto Spine Road until reaching Central car park; you will see 'Funland' and 'Sealife Centre' on the left, and the large green parrot on the side of 'Coral Island', and Blackpool Tower ahead. Should you wish to continue your car journey closer to Grundy and for further information on the regeneration work that is transforming the town please visit: http://www.visitblackpool.com/site/maps-and-guides/promenade-closure Parking: Please see the information above regarding Blackpool Central car park. Should you wish to travel by car closer to Grundy there is a pay and display car park next to the gallery, and a multi-storey pay-on-exit car park at the end of Queen Street. There is also parking for disabled badge holders on Queen Street. By Train: Travel to Blackpool North train station. Grundy is a 5 minute walk from the station. On Foot, from the Town Centre: From North Pier, continue northerly along the promenade and turn right into Queen Street. The gallery is situated between Central Library and the pay-and-display car park. We are just 5-8 minutes walk away from North Pier, the Winter Gardens, Tower. |
