Northamptonshire

Great Oxendon is a small village on the A508 just south of Market Harborough.

It mainly dates from around 1800 and is built in red brick and local Northamptonshire sand stone. It has a nice pub/restaurant called The George, a classic car/motorcycle centre and a fishing lake with visitor centre for afternoon teas and cycle hire.

The village was the starting point for the Royalist forces in their final battle of the English civil war at Naseby just down the road and there is an interesting battle field trail.

There are many lovely walks around the area.
