Things to do in Congleton, Cheshire
The thriving and attractive market town of Congleton nestles at the foothills of the Pennines amongst some of the most attractive countryside in Britain.
The river Dane winds its way through the centre of town creating an outstanding wildlife corridor.
A visit to the river is a must for visitors from which access can be gained to the recently refurbished Congleton Park with its ecologically important town wood.
Visitors to Congleton - sometimes known as Beartown - can expect a warm welcome.
Local attractions include the Congleton Museum, a free traditional children's paddling pool (May-Sept) as well as an excellent range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
The town is also popular with boaters with the Macclesfield canal passing through the eastern side of the town.
