This can make a lot of sense, as most British cities offer a wide range of attractions and activities to perfectly fill the days and nights of an average short break trip.

However, for the more adventurous, locating somewhere less at the centre of things and making your own itinerary can be very rewarding. Car hire is common place, the roads generally good and British driving generally safe and orderly, even if road-travel can be frustrating at times, especially in the South East of England.
