Rochdale Art Gallery

Touchstones is an exciting arts and heritage centre that has something special for everyone. The site consists of Art Galleries, Museum, Local Studies Centre and Tourist Information Centre.

The Museum is hands on for all the family. It is full of fun activities for kids, fascinating facts for adults and, for the not so young, a chance to share some cherished memories! Come and discover Rochdale's past and, perhaps, help shape its future. The Museum has a Wall of Fame which celebrates the contributions of ordinary people to the Borough of Rochdale.

There are four splendidly restored galleries. One for Rochdale's impressive collections, two for the best in contemporary art, and Gallery One - the gallery for everyone! Gallery One has a continuous and diverse programme of exhibitions from the local community. The aim is to reflect the wide range of interests and creative talent that exists in the Borough.

Whether you are a student of local history, want to trace your family roots or just want to know a little about the street you live on, help is at hand in the Local Studies Centre. The Tourist Information Centre provides information local, regional and national attractions as well as bookings for accommodation and local theatre.
