Bignor Roman villa is situated in a superb rural setting to the north of the South Downs. The mosaic floors, discovered in 1811, are some of the finest in Britain, and they are displayed under cover. The 24m (80ft) long mosaic in the north corridor is the longest on display in the country, there
are also many other mosaics including the famous Venus & Cupid Gladiators, Medusa and Ganymede.The Museum, which contains many interesting artefacts found on site during excavations, tells the story of the Villa over the years. Visitors can also see how the hypocaust under-floor heating system worked.
