Things to do in Grasby, Lincolnshire
Grasby is an award winning village on the edge of the wolds surrounded by fantastic countryside.
It is an ideal spot to go walking as the Viking way passes right through the heart of the village.
The path is very well signposted with the familiar yellow logo of a Viking helmet.
The village was once a bustling, thriving community serving a wide area with numerous shops trading in virtually every commodity imaginable.
It boasted two public houses, a post office and every conceivable tradesman.
On walking around the village you can see where the old shops have now been turned into domestic housing giving the village a unique character with a blend of old and new buildings.
The church made the news when it was decided that the steeple was unsafe.
It was taken down in the 1800s leaving the church with just its square tower.
Grasby is well located for the visitor with Lincoln just 40 minutes away and York just over one hour.
Direct trains from Barnetby Le Wold to Doncaster, Manchester and connections to all other UK destinations is just a few minutes drive.
With easy access to the motorway and the Humberside airport, Grasby has once again become a popular village with a strong community spirit.
