The village of Corfe is home to one of the oldest castles in England. Corfe Castle still stands as a ruin, but is also one of the most well-known sights in Dorset.

The castle has a lot of history, and is an excellent place to learn about itself and other castles; there are several 'learning places' in the surrounding village and guided tours in the castle, so it is an ideal place for one who is interested in castles; it is a popular destination for school trips or excursions [there are car parks which allow coaches].

Corfe Castle Model Village is created from local Purbeck stone at 1/20th scale; it shows visitors today how the castle and village looked three hundred years ago.

Gardeners will enjoy a visit to the nearby, restored traditional Dorset Garden, with rare trees and shrubs and traditional English borders.

In the village itself, one can visit one of the tea-rooms, or the (National Trust) gift shop; there is a Post Office and many other shops to cater for different tastes.

Alternatively, if shopping isn't your thing, there are many picturesque walks around the castle, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
