Things to do in Buchanty, Perth and Kinross
Buchanty Spout is a wonderful gem of a place to get in touch with nature. It has an array of pot holes and gushing waterfalls amongst a terrain of huge rocks. Every scene viewed could be cut out and placed alone as there are so many beautiful facets to view.
Access to the spout is just left of the car park through a short track amongst trees, definitely not wheelchair friendly and children should definitely be supervised.
The Salmon often leap when the rain falls heavy but mostly mid-late autumn. Apart from this time the place is relatively quiet and all to yourself!
There are several guesthouses and even game lodges providing local fare, along with a golf course and stunning scenery throughout, right up to the awe inspiring sma glen; but not forgetting the rich wildlife of red squirrels, ospreys, owls, red deer, and much more.
The area is worth a visit but is rather cut off so public transport is not an option and mobile phone signals can be absent, however there are several "red" telephone boxes that actually do work... so its a double bonus and worth visiting just to get a shot of one before they go too.
