Leicestershire

Brooksby is now home to the county's Agricultural College, but was once the seat of the Villiers family. Its most famous son, George, born in 1592 at Brooksby, rose to be the favourite of two Stuart monarchs (James I and Charles I) as Duke of Buckingham, prior to his assassination in 1627.

St. Michael's Church has a 14th century tower and contains Villiers family memorials.
