Once a thriving market town, with the market cross believed to date back to 1200, Ireby is now a truly unspoilt, peaceful fell village. On exploring the village visit Ireby Old Church situated on the outskirts of the village, also make a stop at the village shop located in a local pub!

As you leave Ireby towards the village of Uldale, enjoy the beauty of the quiet country lanes and bridleways and let your senses reel with the heady scent of nature.

The present house was built in 1666 by the 8th Earl of Derby for his visits to his Cumbrian estates. In 1688 he sold it to his agent Roger Gregg. This is the only time it has been sold.
