The cottage has retained much of its original character, with exposed beams and latched doors throughout.
The main accomodation is on the upper level, giving spectacular views from the lounge and dining kitchen, across and down the Eden Valley.
The dining kitchen contains integrated fridge with ice box, integrated dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, toaster and i-Pod dock. The lounge has Flatscreen TV with Sky Freesat and DVD home cinema system, DAB radio, CD-iPod stereo and a solid fuel stove (all fuel is provided).
The twin bedroom and adjacent bathroom are also situated on this level. Downstairs is a double bedroom with Flatscreen TV and DVD player, walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom.
From the ground floor there is access to the garage which contains the washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer, it also has a wash down area.
The garage will comfortably house one car and contains 2 mountain bikes and a set of golf clubs which may be used by guests at their own risk.
Outside the cottage has a paved garden area with patio furniture, a barbeque and utensils are stored in the garage. Parking is available for 2 cars in a designated bay adjacent to the garden.
The Lion Pub is situated adjacent to the Cottage serves a variety of beers and good home cooked food. The farm in the village sells milk, eggs and a selection of vegetables depending upon the season.
Situated just to the north of Skiddaw, Ireby is an excellent centre for touring and walking throughout the Northern Lakes, yet is relatively unspoilt and provides a haven from the hustle and bustle of the busier parts of the Lake District.
Ambleside and Windemere are, however, still within easy reach.
