The Paisley Pattern

The Paisley Pattern is a design classic known and loved in the USA, Japan and throughout Europe. In the last century the luxury shawl industry of Paisley, Scotland's largest town, spread the name and the pattern across the world.

Today you can see the beauty of the original shawls and discover the story of their intricate art at Paisley Museum and Art Galleries. The Museum is establishing again the skills of the handloom weavers who made Paisley famous. Their lost knowledge is being recreated using the authentic methods of 150 years ago.
