Things to do in Glenbarr, Argyll and Bute |

The sleepy hamlets of Bellochantuy, Glenbarr and Muasdale stretch up the West Road, alongside which are several lengths of fine sandy beaches, with convenient lay-byes for access, from where the islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura can be photographed, along with one of the world's greatest sunset views.
Glenbarr Abbey is home to the Macalister Clan, and worth visiting - its owner traces his family history back nearly 1000 years to Somerled himself. At Muasdale, alongside the new road bridge, the ancient packhorse bridge can still be seen. There is much Norse influence in the history of this locality.
