Things to do in Carradale, Argyll and Bute
Carradale is a popular holiday village and busy fishing harbour.
Carradale lies at the centre of a network of forest and coastal walks with varied wildlife including many species of birds, several types of deer, and the poisonous but timid adder.
It has a safe, sandy beach, from which Carradale Point can be accessed, rich in flora, and home to Wild Goats.
A challenging 9-hole Golf Course in the village is well worth a try.
Carradale is a very suitable stopping off point for cyclists using the 'Sustrans' route, being roughly midway between Campbeltown and Claonaig.
This stretch of coast has a number of pleasant coves and beaches, easily accessed.
Up at Grogport is the Organic Tannery, using a unique process, which you can see at work. Keep your eyes peeled - you may well see a basking shark offshore!
