Edinburgh International Harp Festival

The Edinburgh International Harp Festival is primarily concerned with teaching. It combines the opportunity for newcomers to give the harp a go with the opportunity for existing players to further their skills.

This holds true regardless of current standard, musical genre, style or specific type of harp. From complete novices to advanced players, the activities on offer have something for everyone across the harp playing spectrum.

The festival weekend takes place each April based within the attractive campus of Merchiston Castle School, Edinburgh and boasts big-name attendees. Amongst others, these include:

  • The Poozies

To compliment the classes there are star-studded concerts, ceilidhs and workshops, along with a large harp makers' exhibition where you can try instruments, browse through CDs or buy music.
