The mountain, and over 5000 acres around it, are owned and managed by the National Trust for Scotland.
The Ardess Hidden History Trail is a low level, 1.5km long walk around the lower slopes and woodland, providing a great opportunity to find out more about the lives of people in the area a few hundred years ago.
The trail links up archaeological traces of different aspects of life on the hillside 200 to 400 years ago, interpreted by a self-guiding leaflet which can be picked up at the Ardess Lodge ranger base.
