Kilchurn Castle |

A square tower, built by Colin Campbell of Glenorchy c1550, Kilchurn Castle was much enlarged in 1693, incorporating the first purpose built barracks in Scotland.
The substantial ruins are some of the most picturesque in the country with spectacular views down Loch Awe.
This property is managed by Historic Scotland.

At the North east end of Loch Awe, 2.5m West of Dalmally off the A85. Access on foot is possible under Loch Awe railway viaduct via a pedestrian gate. Care should be taken as the area is liable to flooding. |
