Herefordshire

Eardisland is a beautiful Black and White village in north Herefordshire.

The AA box you see came from nearby Legions Cross, and is now in the garden of an inn. I believe it is the White Cross Inn.

Just across the River Arrow is the Staick House - the original Chocolate-Box house - believed to be 14th Century.

Also there is an 18th Century dovecote(now restored).

Houses are built next to the river but the owners seem prepared to accept the risk of winter fooding.

Close to the village is Burton Court, another hidden Herefordshire gem.

It is said that Henry VII crossed the river at Eardisland on his way to the Battle of Bosworth (1485).
