Positioned over the River Itchen the mill was rebuilt in 1744 using materials dating back to the 15th century. Experience the amazing power of the River Itchen racing through the building. See the simple waterwheel and machinery turning and taking energy from the river.

Learn about the history and technology of milling through a video presentation, working model and displays.There is a delightful island garden and an impressive millrace and restored waterwheel. There is a shop stocking a wide range of gifts, many exclusive to the National Trust.
