Situated 100 yards from the entrance to the Valley Gardens and Royal Pump Room Museum, the Mercer Art Gallery is home to the District's superb collection of Fine Art. Originally built in 1806 as Harrogate's first spa building, 'The Promenade Room' has been restored to its former glory.
The Gallery hosts a diverse programme of events and exhibitions, ranging from national touring exhibitions of painting, photography,
sculpture and crafts, to the display of work by local artists. Exhibitions in 2006 include Paula Rego's graphic art, John Goto's New World Circus photographs, British landscapes, women's artfrom the permanent collection and historic textiles from Temple Newsam House.
There is ramped access at the side door. The toilet is suitable for people with disabilities. One car parking space is reserved on Swan Road for visitors with disabilities.

| Follow signs to the town centre. You will come onto a one way system. Follow brown tourist signs to the Royal Pump Room Museum and Mercer Art Gallery. Three hour disc parking is available outside the gallery, discs available at the front desk. The nearest pay and display car park is Montpellier Shoppers. |
