|
One of Yorkshire's most relaxing and surprising gardens at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales!
Wander through tranquil surroundings in this stunning garden and pick up the latest tips and techniques for your own borders…or simply relax and enjoy a leisurely stroll. With changing seasonal interest and themed events running throughout the year, there is always something new to see and do.
In the spring you can look forward to the riotous bulb displays which bring welcome colour and scent to the garden. Thousands of vibrant tulips carpet the ground amongst huge willow woven sculptures in the Whale Border.
The dramatic colour then moves to the flower borders in May right through to late summer. Autumn sees the garden transform into its most colourful season. Ablaze with vibrant shrubs and berries, the turning leaves set the whole garden alight in bright red', gold's and amber's.
During the winter months there is still plenty to see. Beautiful berried, tiny scented flowers and rich stem colour bring welcome cheer in the colder months as the glistening frosts highlight the beautiful shapes and textures of the garden.
Also take in a relaxing stroll along the lush Streamside Garden and take inspiration from 200 years of gardening in Gardens through Time. Pick up practical ideas from the new Kitchen Garden and take glorious deep breaths in the beautiful scented garden.
Our new Alpine House is not to be missed, as it is the largest of any of the RHS Gardens and is home to a selection of the Harlow Carr Alpine collection made up of over 2000 plants. Visit the extensive RHS Shop & Plant Centre, and linger over delicious goodies in Bettys Café Tea Rooms.
All in all, a truly surprising and entertaining day out!
