A stronghold of Medieval Kings, Knaresborough Castle still stands towering above the River Nidd. Explore the Castle independently or join a tour to discover the history of the King's Tower, visit the dark dungeon and scurry through the mysterious underground sallyport.

Visit the Museum to find an original Tudor courtroom and learn more of Knaresborough's interesting history. Activities for younger visitors include a Castle trail, Civil War costumes, discovery box and various events and activities during the year.

There's also plenty to do in our hands-on Life in a Castle gallery where you can play Medieval games and try on costume.

The Castle site is accessible for wheelchairs but there is limited access to the historic buildings.
