Angus Folk Museum |
Visit one of Scotland's finest folk museums and explore life in rural Scotland during the past 200 years. In the reconstructions of a traditional 'but 'n' ben' cottage, a farm bothy and minister's parlour, visitors can see the stark differences in the lifestyles between workers and the middle classes.
Displayed in a row of charming cottages, built in the 1790s to house estate workers, the Angus Folk Collection has displays covering social history from the cradle to the grave.
Nearby, in traditional buildings, the agricultural section features an excellent exhibition, Life on the Land. Highlights include the 'Lawton Lad' traction engine and the magnificent Glenisla horse-drawn hearse.
