Lullingstone Castle - Historic Family Mansion, Church and home to the World Garden. Frequented by Henry VIII and Queen Anne.
The house contains fine state rooms, portraits and armour. The Tudor Gatehouse was one of the earliest in England to be built entirely of bricks.
St Botolph's Parish Church in the grounds is of Norman origin and contains some of the oldest stained glass windows in England together with a fine Tudor rood-screen and family monuments.
The Tudor gate house was one of the earliest in England to be built entirley of bricks.
In the beautiful grounds there is the developing World Garden of Plants.

April to end of September:Friday and Saturday: World Garden open 12.00pm to 5.00pm. Sunday: World garden open 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Bank Holidays (except Good Friday) World Garden and House open 2.00pm to 6.00pm.House also open on special event days. Lullingstone Castle and the World Garden are open exclusively for group visitors on Wednesdays and Thursdays April to September with Guided tours of House and Gardens. Group rate £8.00 per person plus £40 for guided tour which lasts between 2-3 hours. Groups are also welcome during normal opening times. |
