This spacious holiday property is just opposite the River Wear, in the small village of Wearhead and offers superb holiday accommodation for couples and large family groups.

First floor: 5 bedrooms: 2 double, one with en-suite shower room and toilet, 2 twin with additional folding single (for child), 1 bunk. Bathroom with toilet.

Woodburner in dining room (initial fuel inc). Oil CH, bed linen and towels inc.cot.

Two digital TVs. DVDs. CD. Elicec Range. Microwave. Washing machine. Dish washer. Fridge freezer.

Enclosed courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars)

There is a village shop and local pubs nearby, and the most spectacular walks lead from the doorstep in every direction in beautiful Weardale – the last wilderness.

Whether it is a half mile stroll around the two burns, which merge at this point to form the start of the River Wear, or a more energetic hike along the Weardale Way and its network of walks, a glorious vista awaits you.

High Force, Englands highest waterfall with a 21m drop, is well worth a visit, as well as visitor centres and nature reserves in the local area.

Weardale Ski Club is nearby and offers weather alerts when snow is due. The Durham Dales are Englands best kept secret and there are a multitude of historic sites, Barnard Castle, Raby Castle, Killhope Lead Mining Museum (small visitor attraction of the year 2008).

Only 2 miles away, is the historic city of Durham, with its cathedral built in the 11th century; 30 miles, the Piercebridge Roman Fort near Darlington.

Hadrians Wall running from Newcastle to Hexham within 1/2 hours drive, and Beamish Open Air Museum are within 3/4 hours drive.

The Eco Village at Eastgate, Weardale Railway Station and fishing at Burnhop Reservoir are all nearby. Shop 10 yards, pubs and restaurant 1 mile.
