The converted 17th Century farmhouse offers excellent 4* group hostel accommodation with breathtaking views of Cumbria and Northumberland.
The farmhouse which overlooks the remains of the Roman Fort has a maximum capacity of 39 people. For those wishing to stay self catering the kitchen is well equipped with a homely feel complete with an Aga, oak units and granite worktops.
For those wishing to stay full board breakfast consists of toast, cereal, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Packed lunches contain a freshly made filled roll, fruit, home made tray bake, and fruit juice. A variety of evening meals are available and freshly prepared by our housekeepers.
The Dining Room has traditional style wooden tables and benches, a television and DVD player.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided within the kitchen for all catered guests.
The accommodation contains 7 bedrooms sleeping 3 to 8 people, many with original features and beautiful view over the remains of the fort. They consist of bunk beds, a wash basin, and full central heating.
A disabled bedroom with en suite facilities is located on the ground floor; all others have their own individual shower room near to the bedroom. A shower room consists of a toilet, wash hand basin and shower. All bedding is included.
The location is ideal for Walking Hadrian’s Wall; there is a lot to explore in the area including many Roman sites such as Chesters Roman Fort, Housesteads Roman Fort and Corbridge Roman Town.
Set within a 61 hectare estate with views over the Irthing Valley Birdoswald is the ideal base from which to explore the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks.
Go bird watching at a nearby RSPB reserve. Visit the nearby Historic town of Hexham or the Cities of Carlisle and Newcastle for shopping and much more.

Self catering is £375 per night for hire of the whole building which sleeps up to 39 people. Also available for Christmas and New Year bookings (minimum of 3 nights) £460 per night self catering. £49.50 per person per night full board which includes bed, breakfast, evening meal and packed lunch. For catered options the minimum group size if 15, maximum is 39 Prices are valid until 31/03/14. |
