This former lodge house has been rebuilt and completely renovated to a very high standard, as an eco-friendly and allergy-friendly property, a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
The area has beautiful countryside, where visitors can enjoy walking, birdwatching, cycling, riding, and other outdoor pursuits, or alternatively visit local houses, sites of historic interest and castles.
It has something for everyone - families, couples, groups of friends can all find a variety of things to enjoy in the surrounding area.
It is at the Western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, an area of special landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage and Fforest Fawr Geopark, the area designated in 2005 by UNESCO, because of its outstanding geological heritage.
The Heart of Wales Railway line offers the opportunity to see some spectacular scenery including the Cynghordy Viaduct.
Close by are Cilycwm, Rhandirmawn and Llyn Brianne Reservoir which are beautiful places to walk,cycle or drive. Stop off at the Dinas RSPB Nature Reserve for a stunning walk along the river and through alder and oak bluebell woodland. Brecfa and Crychan Forests offer woodland and waterfall walks and mountain biking paths.

The property has three double bedrooms and one bunk-bed bedroom. Two of the double bedrooms have their own mosaic-tiled en-suite wetrooms, and there is a separate bathroom for the two remaining bedrooms and for those who prefer baths.
The open-plan downstairs area comprises a lobby, large kitchen with all modern amenities including energy efficient appliances: dishwasher, washing machine and condenser drier, range cooker, microwave and all the cooking equipment and implements you will nee, WC and living room with a separate television area (freeview channels available and DVD player with selection of DVDs), CD player with I-pod dock, table football and a double-sided wood-burning stove in the middle of the room.

There is a garden with lawn and views to the hills beyond, slate patio with garden furniture and barbecue, flower beds with native plants flowering at different times of the year, and with large pond teeming with wildlife, including frogs, newts, fish, water lilies etc.
There is off-road parking for three cars and a locked shed which can accommodate bicycles.

The Lodge is less than 2 miles from Llandovery, where there are bus and train connections. The Heart of Wales train line stops in Llandovery, on the route between Swansea and Shrewsbury, both major rail hubs. A taxi can be called from the train station, where there is a collectively run café in the renovated station waiting room. Cycles can also be hired locally. |
