Mirefoot Barn has recently been developed into:

Four Self Catering Cottages in The Lake District, with careful thought for your holiday comfort and the provision of a beautiful garden, which is an ongoing project.

Four pet friendly self catering cottages, located together in the Lake District National Park in a superb rural location only 15 minutes from Lake Windermere.

Set in over an acre of landscaped gardens including pond, stream, arboretum and tennis court.

As Guests of the Self Catering Lake District Holiday Cottages, you are welcome to spend time exploring and relaxing, in parts of the garden where seating is available; the fells of the Lake District are immediately accessible from our own bridle path.

Directions

From the South:
Exit M6 at junction 36 and follow A590 to Kendal.
At the roundabout take the second exit to Windermere.
Approx 400 yards turn right to Burneside on Hollins Lane.
Cross over the railway and continue to the T-junction.
Turn Left and drive on to the next village (800 yards) called Bowston.
In Bowston take the first right and immediately cross the river.
At the next junction keep left, pass Laithwaite farm on the right and continue into little wood where the road splits.
Take the right hand fork and Mirefoot Cottages are the second set of buildings on the left. Enter the bridle path and follow the signs to the cottages.

From the North:
Exit M6 at junction 39 and follow A6 towards Kendal.
After approx 13 miles turn right signposted 'Burneside' just before the speed limit signs for Kendal.
Follow the road all the way into Burneside and just beyond general store at T-junction turn right.
Pass the Jolly Anglers Pub and the church and continue on to the next village (800 yards) called Bowston.
In Bowston take the first right and immediately cross the river.
At the next junction keep left, pass Laithwaite farm on the right and continue into little wood where the road splits.
Take the right hand fork and Mirefoot Cottages are the second set of buildings on the left. Enter the bridle path and follow the signs to the cottages.
