Situated in a rural position with a high degree of privacy yet without isolation. Former farm worker's cottages, restored and modernised to a high standard. The holiday cottage is attached to the owner's residence, and has off-road parking for visitors.
Accommodation downstairs comprises open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with seating for 4 at the table. The lounge includes two sofas, TV with Freeview and DVD player, Wireless internet access, stereo system, shelving with books.
The kitchen includes an oven with grill, fridge with ice-box, microwave, kettle, toaster and ample storage. Use of owner's washing machine by arrangement.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with Kingsize bed, twin bedroom with 2 single beds, and bathroom including bath with shower.
Local activities:
Walking and cycling in Thetford Forest, with marked walking and cycling trails, children's play areas, cafe, toilets and small shops with maps etc available to buy. High Lodge has bike hire, and the Go Ape assault course.
Bird watching - Lakenheath Fen, with a visitors centre is currently open. A wetland that is home to marsh harriers, hobbies, bearded tits, reed and sedge warblers nest, as well as golden orioles.
Weeting Heath is one of the best places to see stone curlews, open from April to September.
Welney Wildfowl and Wetland Trust. Off A10 towards Kings Lynn. Year round activities, including dawn viewing of thousands of migrating swans in winter.
Shopping and regional towns - Bury St. Edmunds, Norwich, Kings Lynn and Cambridge are all within an hours drive, while many of the resorts on the North Norfolk coast are little over an hour away.

From the South:
M11 North, A11 towards Norwich, road merges with A14, then take A11 again, for Norwich. At Barton Mills roundabout take 2nd exit, A1065 for Swaffham. Just past runway for RAF Lakenheath, turn left along Wangford Road. At the end of the road, turn right towards Hockwold (B1112). At crossroads in Hockwold, turn left into Burdock Lane, leading to Blackdyke Road (the roadsign is on the left hand side, and not visible until you are on the road) We are 2 miles along the road, on the right-hand side, 0.5 mile after Grange Farm. From the North: Take A10 towards Ely, turn off at Southery. Turn left in village, signed Feltwell. Just past village sign for Feltwell, before entrance to RAF base, turn right into Blackdyke Road. House is 2 miles along road on left-hand side, after Blackdyke Farm. |
