Kilmallie Chalet is a modern self catering timber chalet. It is in a corner of the large garden of Kilmallie House, which is an Historic Scotland (Category B) listed building dating from 1805, designed by Thomas Telford as the superintendent's house for the nearby Caledonian Canal. (Ordnance Survey Sheet 41, Map reference NN095768.)
Guests can drive to the door of the chalet, which is completely self-contained and private, and has a lovely view over our garden to Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond.
Sleeps 4: One bedroom has a double bed, and a second bedroom has 2 full size bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath with a shower. Drying / storage room. Open plan living room / kitchen. TV, washing machine, microwave. All electric - electricity charged extra at current rates.
Duvets, pillows and all bed linen and towels provided.
You can walk down the garden where the scenic Mallaig Railway line, on which a steam train runs in summer, is between the garden and the loch.
Corpach station is close by.
Local shops, a short walk away, are open till 10.00pm.
Fort William has supermarkets etc and is 4 miles away, bus and train are within a few minutes walk.
We are in a very beautiful part of the Highlands, and many places of interest are within easy reach. Lochaber is outstanding for most outdoor activities, including hill walking (Munro bagging), low level walks, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, fishing and skiing in winter. We are keen on outdoor activities ourselves, and will be pleased to share our local knowledge.
