Waters Edge sits on the banks of the River Esk, a mile from the centre of Whitby.
This cottage has accommodation over three floors, and has fantastic views of the river, and the old railway viaduct. Look out for ducks, geese and you might spot a heron, or even a seal if you’re lucky.
The cottage also has a spacious kitchen, a dining area, and the sitting room is on the first floor, with a balcony where you can sit outside and make the most of the views. There’s a paved patio area too - you might spot a steam train going by.
Waters Edge has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 7 people - you can also bring two dogs.
You can walk into Whitby along the Cinder Track path created from the disused railway line - it’s about a 20 minute walk.

The Station House

In the village of Ruswarp, just 1.5 miles from Whitby lies The Station House - a lovely conversion of a Grade II listed stationmasters house.
The building’s great character and original features have been retained during conversion, such as the high ceilings, a stained glass window, slate fireplace and stone windows.
There are two comfortable sitting rooms, one with a wood-burning stove, and the other with a living flame gas fire - and there’s an AGA in the kitchen too - so you’re sure to be cosy during your stay.
French doors open out onto a courtyard where you can eat in the open air.
The cottage has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 11 people - and you can bring two dogs. You’ll probably find them curled up in front of the AGA!

The cottage still has lovely original fireplaces, and one double and one twin bedroom.

The Cowshed

If you’re a larger party, then Stone Trough Cottage might be just what you’re looking for: Sleeping 8 people, with two dogs welcome it’s ideal for a family get-together or a group of friends.
Converted from a milking parlour, Stone Trough Cottage has mesmerising views over Robin Hood’s Bay to the sea, from its large windows.
With underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove, it’s a cosy place to return to after a long walk in the countryside with the dogs. Talking of dogs - there’s plenty of space for them to run around in the owner’s fields.
The cottage is only 6 miles from Whitby itself, and 1.5 miles from Robin Hoods Bay - so you’ll never be stuck for somewhere to visit. There are lots of footpaths and cycleways, including 23 miles of the Cinder Track - a disused railway line that goes all the way from Whitby to Scarborough.

Abbey View Cottage
High Normanby near Robin Hood's Bay, North York Moors & Coast
Only 6 miles outside Whitby, you’ll find Abbey View Cottage - a perfect rural retreat for 2 people and up to 2 dogs. (There are a further two cottages next door, so 4 or 6 people can be accommodated by booking multiple cottages).
The cottage has a galley kitchen and an open-plan sitting and dining area. All accommodation is on the ground floor, so it’s very accessible.
Situated opposite a working dairy farm, this lovely converted stone barn has superb views across the farmland, and as the name implies, you can even see Whitby Abbey.
Abbey view is only 2 miles from Robin Hood’s Bay - probably one of the most beautiful villages in Yorkshire, and somewhere you’ll definitely want to explore during your holiday.
