Glebe House lies in the heart of Leicestershire's tranquil Vale of Belvoir.
This fine Georgian House has associations with the poets George Crabbe and Lord Byron and stands next to Muston village church.
There's been little change to the house in it's two hundred years: every architectural detail has been retained along with period furniture.
So, in spite of modern plumbing, electricity, central heating, TV and WiFi in all the bedrooms, guests can step back in time to experience a more leisured eighteenth century style of living without having to forgo any twenty first century benefits.
You will be welcomed by Carole and Andrew in the impressive entrance hall, and shown to your spacious bedroom up the grand staircase and along the corridor.
Then you are free to relax in the downstairs reception rooms.
On cold winter nights there is a log fire in the Music Room to warm and cheer you.
In the evening it is only a three minute walk to the local pub which serves excellent and inexpensive meals.
A five minute drive will take you to the next village and at least half a dozen varied places where you can get a good meal.
In the morning you will awake to the smell of freshly-baked bread. Breakfast is served in the dining room and we promise: you will be well looked after.
If you are staying for more than one night you will not be chased away during the day. We want you to simply enjoy being here as you throw off the cares of the everyday world and ease into the timeless experience of Glebe House.
Outside there are farm buildings and stables, an orchard and a magnificent vegetable garden together with formal gardens round the house.
The sixteen acres of parkland includes grazing for sheep and walks for guests.
Beyond lies the whole of The Vale of Belvoir and magnificent views of Belvoir Castle. There is much to explore locally and we have lots of information about this unspoiled part of the English countryside.
Surprisingly this rural idyll is only four miles from the AI and the main east coast railway, so access is quick and easy. Some visitors from London even prefer to leave their car behind altogether and travel from Kings Cross to Grantham, where they can be met by arrangement with us.
