We offer a warm and friendly welcome at Ransomes Bed and Breakfast in the village of Peldon. Our location is perfect for people wishing to visit historic Colchester, Tiptree, Mersea Island, Maldon and the North Essex coast.
The blue room has views across The Strood to Mersea Island. It is on the ground floor with full bathroom en-suite and a superking size bed.
Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and TV with DVD. This room has a seperate access for late night guests!
The self contained Annexe is ideal for family groups and has one double and one twin room. There is a shower room and small kitchen with fridge. The lounge has a sofa bed, which can manage one adult or 2 small children - we charge for the 2 main rooms and any extra breakfasts!
An Aga cooked full English breakfast, or continental, awaits with local produce and eggs from our very free range hens!

Located in the village of Peldon, near Colchester, Ransomes is 60 miles north east of London.
From Colchester take the B1025 towards Mersea. 4 miles from Colchester you will reach the villages of Abberton & Langenhoe turn right at the cross roads by the Langenhoe Lion pub, then immediately left towards Peldon. On reaching the village of Peldon follow the road right through the village until you come to a T junction. Turn right, drive slowly on to the Wigborough Road and Ransomes is the second house on the left, find the gap in the high hedge and the wooden sign! See map. |
