The V&A Museum of Childhood aims to encourage everyone to explore the themes of childhood past and present and develop an appreciation of creative design through our inspirational collections and programmes.
Permanent Displays
The Museum's permanent displays are arranged in four main sections:
The Front Room showcasing work from our community programme; the Moving Toy Gallery where moving and optical toys can be seen; the Creativity Gallery where visitors will find an array of inspirational objects and can follow the progress of creative ideas;
and the Childhood Galleries which tell the social story of childhood, displaying different objects, from dolls' houses to contemporary children's fashion and design. Each display area is complimented with hands-on interactives.
We have a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, daily activities and seasonal events.
