If your looking for peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, yet only minutes by car to the wonderful beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe and Putsborough, then Lundy View campsite is for you.
Lundy View camping Site is situated high above Saunton Sands at Orchandon, between Braunton and Darracott.
We are open in the month of August only - from 1st August 2009. Brand new for 2009 - toilet blocks with wash basins, hot showers, seperate facilities for gents and ladies. The hot water showers are powered by a generator which runs from 6am-10am and 5-9pm, sorry cold water outside of these hours. The campsite has solar powered lights outside and inside the toilet block at all times and extra lighting in the toilet block when the generator is on.
Braunton has a good selection of shops including supermarkets, hairdressers, surf shops, bakers, butchers, bike shop etc etc. Braunton Burrows is now known as a biosphere with hundreds of wild flowers and grasses. You can walk for miles and spot the many birds and wildlife. From Velator in Braunton, take the Toll road to the end. Here you can walk on the beach from the white house or go on the old American road and over the board walk reaching saunton beach at the far end of the 3 miles (of each) and explore the sand dunes.
Croyde 1.5 miles. First pub 1 mile. This is a very pretty village with thatched houses, nice pubs/restaurants, ideal surf, swimming or just lazing on the beautiful sands – the choice is yours. Croyde is well known for its craft shops and local ice cream with clotted cream, lovely!
Woolacombe 3 miles. Has plenty of eating places and shops, lovely walks over the sand dunes or along the promenade again swimming, surfing or lazing in the sunshine.
