Wollrig Farmhouse is a lovely traditional farmhouse, set in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders.
This is not a working farm, but we do have a few animals and chickens.
We have no pets in the house - so no need to worry if you have pet allergies.
The accommodation that I have to offer for anyone wishing to stay is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
An additional bed could be made up in the bedroom for a child to share the room with you if required.
There is also a small bedroom adjoining that could sleep two adults or children.
There is sole use of my cosy lounge with TV and open log fire.
In the morning enjoy a hearty full English Breakfast, though I am happy to rustle up an alternative if required.
If you have never visited the Scottish Borders before, then I feel sure that you will not be disappointed with what it has to offer.
In the immediate area there is an excellent golf course, with a popular and friendly club house, serving good food and drink.
Visit the local riding stables and see the area on horseback, or step out in the morning and explore the numerous picturesque walks that are on the doorstep (long, short, difficult and easy ones).
Cycling is very popular either on the quiet lanes or the exciting mountain bike routes through the forests. The famous Glentress mountain biking centre is about 20 miles away.
Fishing Lochs are close by and the beautiful rivers Teviot and Tweed are just a short drive away.
The East Coast takes about an hour to drive to and I can tell you my favourite beaches to visit, they are clean and quiet, and offer interesting clifftop walks. If you're lucky you might see some puffins or grey seals.
Our nearest towns are six, eight and 11 miles away and have a huge assortment of Supermarkets and the usual shops.
The roads around here are so quiet that driving to town is a pleasure and parking is often free.
Edinburgh is well worth a visit, and just over an hour away by car.
Alternatively catch the bus in the village, sit back, enjoy the scenery and arrive in the city of Edinburgh relaxed and ready to explore all the sights.
If you're looking for a relaxing but interesting break then I think that the Scottish Borders is exactly the right place to visit.
