East Raddon farm is set in 140 acres of natural grassland that is peacefully grazed by our herd of Hereford cross cows with their calves and a flock of sheep.
The farm is just four miles from the western edge of Dartmoor with 350 square miles to explore.
We are nestled in the Lew valley with woodland where red deer graze [some mornings they can be seen from the farmhouse], buzzards fly high, wild rabbits are seen as you approach the farm.
We welcome our guests to traditional farmhouse accommodation with homemade cakes, fresh fruit in your room along with homemade biscuits.
If you are still hungry afterwards, perhaps you could enjoy an optional homecooked evening meal using locally sourced ingredients served up in the guest dining room .
Accommodation is a choice of a very spacious double en-suite or a slightly smaller double/twin with your own private bathroom.
Both have shower and bath facilities .
Younger children are most welcome and can be accommodated, either in their parents room with z/bed and or cot or the second guest room can of course become a twin bedded room for those a little older ..
Breakfast is served at leisure using sausages sourced from an excellent butcher at Launceston, Cornish bacon, very local eggs and homemade preserves made here at East Raddon
Sylvia's marmalade is even taken home by guests as a special treat!!
There is a huge number of things to do, places to explore and take in.
Tavistock, Launceston, Okehampton are all around 11 miles away.
Lewtrenchard is home to the Manor hotel and historic home to Sabine Baring-Gould, novelist and historian to around 200 work and famous for the familiar hymn "Onward Christen Soliders".
His home is well worth a visit as is the church of St Peter's. Both are ten minutes stroll from the farm.
Travel a little further to Lydford Gorge with it's second highest waterfall in England .
Brentor really should be visited, the ancient church sits high on top of an volcanic larva outcrop.
You can view this magical site in the distance from the farm yard.
Go slightly further afield to the Eden Projec, there are many National Trust Properties and of course the cornish coast.
Or simply stay close by walk the quiet lanes, footpaths or bridleways.
Spend time soaking in the tranquil quietness that is East Raddon.
You will be most welcome, come stay, relax, feel very much at home.
